2 Chronicles 32:26 (ESV): “26 But Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the Lord did not come upon them in the days of Hezekiah.”
Humility goes a long way with God. He resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. Stay humble, and you will see God do amazing things in your life.
After God delivered Hezekiah and all of Judah from the Assyrians, the king became sick. Isaiah came to him and said, “Get your house in order, for you are about to die.” Hezekiah prayed to the Lord, and God added fifteen more years to his life. He became prideful after this, and God pronounced judgment upon him and those in Judah. However, Hezekiah humbled himself, as did those in Judah, and God withheld judgment from them.
How do you respond to the successes in your life? Do they puff you up? The danger of experiencing the miraculous touch of God is that it can tempt a person to become proud. Guard your heart against pride in all situations, especially when God moves mightily in your life. Jesus is the hero of our story, and He deserves the glory. Be sure to give it ALL to Him. Amen?
Father, we thank You for working in our lives. Help us maintain a spirit of humility so that we can remain in a place of use for Your glory, we pray, in Jesus’ name, amen.
