Pastor Tim Romero and his wife Sonja along with their four children, Crue, Silas, Zoie, and Jude moved to Columbia in 2007 to expand their business. During this journey God would reveal His true purpose for their move, to plant a Calvary Chapel Columbia. Tim and Sonja were active in their church in Sarasota, FL prior to coming to TN.
Tim was an elder and worship leader and Sonja served in children’s ministry and women’s ministry. In early 2004 God revealed His call for Tim to pastoral ministry. Through a process of working out the details of the call God orchestrated the move to TN where He would then reveal His plan for the Romero’s to plant the church.
God was faithful to supply every need and after spending 2008-2010 in the Romero’s home the church moved to a Saturday night only service hosted in the YMCA. In 2012 God opened the door for the church to move to Sunday mornings in a new space. Starting out in 4000 square feet the church would meet weekly on Sundays and midweek Bible studies and would eventually expand into the entire 12,000 square feet on Easter Sunday of 2017. God has done great things and we believe the best is yet to come
