Zechariah 3:1-3

Zechariah 3:1–3 (ESV): Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. 2 And the Lord said to Satan, "The Lord rebuke you, O Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is not this a brand plucked from the fire?" 3 Now Joshua was standing before the angel, clothed with filthy garments. 4 And the angel said to those who were standing before him, "Remove the filthy garments from him." And to him, he said, "Behold, I have taken your iniquity away from you, and I will clothe you with pure vestments."

No one is worthy to stand in the presence of God Almighty on their own. Satan reminds God often of this and yet every time he speaks accusations against God's elect Jesus rebukes him and intercedes for us. We have an advocate in heaven and He is all we need!

Zechariah was shown through a vision of Joshua, the high priest at the time, Jesus and Satan all standing it what appears to be the Supreme Court of the Most High. Satan is pointing out Joshua's uncleanness and Jesus defends him with His righteousness then instructs his filthy garments to be taken off and new ones to put on him for He has taken away his iniquity.

What Satan has to say about you in heaven is true.  You are as scandalous as they come but Jesus has paid the price for you.  What an amazing truth to hold on to.  Jesus stands in the gap for you!He said the price for you.  He will remove the iniquity of anyone who puts their trust in Him.  Be clothed in His righteousness, amen?

Father, what amazing love You have loved us with that You would give Your Only Son to save a wretch like me.  May I do my very best to give Satan the very least to accuse me of.  Thank You for cleaning me of all my sin in Jesus' name I pray amen.
