Romans 15:1–3 (ESV): "We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves. 2 Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. 3 For Christ did not please himself, but as it is written, "The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me.""
With great power comes great responsibility - Ben Parker Spider-Man.
Apparently uncle Ben got that phrase from the Apostle Paul cause that's what he said here. It's true that when God
gives you great gifting it's meant to be a blessing to others. If you have great faith you must use it to encourage those who have little faith. If you have physical strength you ought to use it to bless those who don't.
The old adage look out for number 1 is also against what Paul is saying here. We are to bear with our weaker brother, not in the sense if putting up with them but more to come along side and endure with, that they might be built up and not tore down. Keep your heart in a place of considering others interests above your own. Be generous and loving with all that God has given for He can take it all away just as fast as He gave it. Be faithful to build up your weaker brother as Christ has done to you.
Father we thank You for the gifting you've given us. Will you help us to use our gifting for Your glory and the benefit of others? Fill us with the heart of Christ that we might love and build up our fellow Christians to mature. Give us opportunity today we pray in Jesus name, amen.
