Romans 14:1–3 (ESV): "As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. 2 One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. 3 Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him."
Don't judge your vegetarian brothers and sisters, they are weak. Lol.Seriously though, don't judge another man's liberties or restrictions. God has given us the right to lay hold of or restrict many things but it is wrong to judge another person on how they live their spiritual life.Be kind, welcome a "weaker" Christian in, and don't argue over opinions.
What a person eats, drinks, or worships is between them and God.We have the liberties to live life for the Lord how we want to.Paul does say a weaker believer will have more restrictions thinking that makes them more spiritual (which isn't true) but we shouldn't argue with someone over those things. The same is true for the strong believer, they shouldn't use their liberties to stumble a weaker brother (vs 13).Walk in love towards each other!
How do you respond to the liberty of others? Are you their judge and jury or do you meet them where they are?Don't let your convictions get in the way of fellowshipping with others.Be liberal with love and harsh towards a critical spirit within you.We do only have one person to answer to and it's not any of us, amen?
Father, we pray for loving hearts that will not be critical of another man's faith (liberty).May we always seek to grow and encourage each other but keep us from judging one another we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
