Romans 12:1-2

Romans 12:1–2 (ESV): "I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."

The only way to live in true relationship with God is by living in full surrender. This is our reasonable worship to Him.

The church in Rome was being challenged by the Apostle Paul here to be formed and transformed in both their lives and in their hearts through surrender to God. Hence the reason he writes "I appeal to you". This is an appeal to the will of man that they would choose to live in such a way bodily that God would consider them upon an altar dedicated to Him alone. Not only that but that they would allow Him to transform their lives then to such a degree that they would no longer look like the world but look like Jesus. This can only happen when a person is fully surrendered to God.

Are you living in such a way that suggests to God that your life is upon the altar? Are you willing to do and to go wherever He asks you? Does He have full command of your life? It's by His mercy that we can accomplish these things. He doesn't give us what we deserve thus we ought to surrender our whole selves to Him as a way to say thank You. If you live as a sacrifice daily the world will not be able to mold you but you will rather mold the world by allowing Christ to be seen through you. Live the surrendered life Christian. Climb upon to the altar and tell God your life is His then do what He says!

Father we thank you that Your mercies are new every day. We thank You that no matter who we are You want to extend mercy upon us that we might surrender our whole selves to You. Take this life and use it Lord to the glory of Your name. Mold me and make me a vessel of honor that the world might see Your amazing handiwork and bow the knee. I surrender to You even now in Jesus name I pray amen!
