Revelation 9:13-15

Revelation 9:13–15 (ESV): "13 Then the sixth angel blew his trumpet, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar before God, 14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates." 15 So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour, the day, the month, and the year, were released to kill a third of mankind."

Death is often used by God as a wake up call to the living. Some respond with repentance realizing one day they will stand before their Maker. Some respond with celebration embracing the idea that they will spend eternity in Hell and some, they block death out from their minds refusing to think about it. Don't forget eternity comes after this life, choose wisely.

John sees the sixth angel sound the trumpet and with it four angels bring death upon one-third of the earth. If you haven't noticed the number one-third continues to come up.It's interesting to me because one-third of the Trinity, namely Jesus Christ, was brutally rejected by the world we live in and died by the judgment of man on a cross.Perhaps this is the reason. What we know is that these gnarly demonic creatures will be released from the Golden altar, the same altar the martyrs were pleading for God to act (Rev 6:9), to kill one-third of the worlds population. They command an army of two hundred million. The plague of death has now killed nearly 60%(one-fourth plus one-third) of the earths population and yet many still will not repent.

How do you respond to the inevitable?Death will come for us all one day. Will you repent of your sins and be made right with God by way of His Son Jesus or will you refuse His grace and stand on your own merit before His judgement throne? Will you simply refuse to thinking about? The only good decision of these three is the first one. Repentance leads to life. Therefore repent and live.Amen?

Father we thank You for Your oh so subtle reminders about our inevitable fate. We will all die and one day stand before You. May our hearts be cleansed and our sins washed away in the blood of Jesus Christ. Forgive us all Father and keep us free from the bondage that so easily entangles us.We turn to You alone today and believe in Your One and Only begotten, Jesus in whose name we pray, amen!
