Revelation 17:1-3

Revelation 17:1–3 (ESV): "Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, "Come, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters, 2 with whom the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality, and with the wine of whose sexual immorality the dwellers on earth have become drunk." 3 And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns."

The greatest deception the unredeemed can fall for is not believing they will one day answer to God for their sin. The Bible promises that it is appointment all men to die and after that comes the judgment (Heb 9:27). Don't be fooled, God will one day judge every person who has not believed.

As John has watched the seventh bowl being poured out an angel comes to him and reveals the judgment of Babylon, the great prostitute. She has seduced mankind into following the Beast and its political, economical and religious systems. The nations have been deceived and Kings has been intoxicated by her system. No longer will God stand for it.

The Spirit carries John into the wilderness and he sees a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that is adorn in blasphemous names and has seven heads and ten horns. These heads are representative of seven Kings and Kingdoms. Five have fallen (previous kingdoms Egypt, Assyria, Babylonia, Medo-Persia, and Greece), one is (Rome in Johns day), and one is yet to come (A revived Roman Kingdom) (as notes by Rev 17:10). The ten horns are ten nations mentioned by Daniel as mixed iron and clay (Dan 2:42). The waters she sits over represent the world. The harlot has seduced the entire world and now God will judge her and all who follow in this final bowl judgment.

Christian, eternity might seem far away but we are one day closer than ever before. God is calling us to influence the world with the cause of Christ. We must not remain on our slumber. Today is the day of salvation. Let us not sit back and do nothing. We have the words of life. Share them with passion and conviction. We, as vessels filled with the Spirit, are what is restraining the anti-Christ currently. Let us do the work of an evangelist while it's still day for night is coming. The time is now. Let your life so shine that men may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven!

Great God and might King. We worship You and You alone. You are matchless in might and power. There is none like You. May we move amongst the earth as people who believe this. No matter what we encounter may we stand in our faith trusting Your sovereign hand. Forgive us, cleanse us and use us in these last days we pray in Jesus name, amen.
