Revelation 13:1-4

Revelation 13:1–4 (ESV): And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on its horns and blasphemous names on its heads. 2 And the beast that I saw was like a leopard; its feet were like a bear's, and its mouth was like a lion's mouth. And to it the dragon gave his power and his throne and great authority. 3 One of its heads seemed to have a mortal wound, but its mortal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled as they followed the beast. 4 And they worshiped the dragon, for he had given his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast, and who can fight against it?"

Every attempt made by Satan to overthrow God results in utter failure. There is nothing Satan can do to stop the plan of God. He has no chance in escaping the Lake of Fire! So too are those who fight against God and His will. It's a losing battle.

John describes Satan as a dragon in Chapter 12 who in Chapter 13 influences a beast of the sea, representing a political power known as the anti-Christ, as well as a beast that comes out of the world, that represents the false prophet that will surface. These three, Satan, the Anti-Christ and the False Prophet are the unholy trinity that unite to overthrow God.

The Beast of the sea has ten horns with seven heads and ten diadems or crowns on the horns representing ten leaders that will rise up in union with the anti-Christ. Daniel chapters 2 & 7 connect these ten leaders with the ancient Roman Empire. They will be under the rule of the anti-Christ who in turn is under the rule of Satan. Many believe the fatal wound spoken of here means that the anti-Christ will be fatally wounded and rise again from the dead just like Jesus. When people see this they will worship him. Midway through the Tribulation He will become the abomination who makes desolate spoken of by Daniel (Dan 9:27) by declaring himself to be the Messiah. And yet in the end he will fall short of victory for Jesus will return and take His rightful throne.

Are you fighting God and His plan for you? It's clear that no weapon formed against Him shall prosper. It's best to yield your heart and life up to Him in full surrender than to attempt to do it your way. That leaves us restless. The only way to have the peace of God in your life is to surrender to His will. If you haven't made Jesus your Lord start there. If you have then obey His Word and let the Spirit lead.

Father we thank You for wrestling with us at times. Forgive us for being so stubborn and unwilling to yield to You. In full surrender we declare to You, Your will be done. You are an amazing God and Your plans for us are meant to prosper us not harm us. Let us see You for the good Father You are and may we trust You evermore we pray in Jesus name, amen!
