Psalm 8:3-4

Psalm 8:3–4 (ESV): "3  When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, 4  what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?"

The greatness of God is far beyond our comprehension. In our pondering, we wonder why God loves us so much. It's because He is God and God is love. He cannot deny Himself.

As David ponders all of creation and stands in awe of the handiwork of God he comes to an important conclusion, man is so small and insignificant in the scheme of all of creation, why does God love us so much? Why would we matter to Him to such a degree that He would contend with our wickedness and continual wandering? The answer is love! God is love and He loves all of His creation but especially man. So much so that He would become a man to save us from our sin.

If you feel insignificant and small in this world today it's because you are. However, this has nothing to do with how valued you are. The God of the universe loves you with all the love He has to give. He wants you to know although you are small in the scheme of creation you are big in His eyes. No other part of creation has God gone after like us. He became a man and was crucified and rose again for us! WOW!!!

God is mindful of you, He is thinking about you right now! Why not take some time today and marvel at His greatness? That will put things into perspective for you and help you understand your true value. You are worth far more than the world could or ever will tell you. He loves us! Praise Him and glorify His name. May He be the main pondering of our hearts and minds. He truly is worthy and how grateful we are for His love. Amen?

Father, You are so wonderful and caring. You made this gigantic universe and set us before it just so we could see Your might and glory. Then You became like us so we could share in eternity with You. You are truly amazing. Help us to have the correct perspective of ourselves, Lord. We have value and are incredibly loved far beyond what we could ever know. Help us to receive it and then give that love back to all that You love. Let us spread the glory and wonder of who You are and the reality that You love us so! We praise You in Jesus' name, amen.
