Psalm 68:19–20 (ESV): "19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation. Selah
20 Our God is a God of salvation, and to God, the Lord, belong deliverances from death."
True salvation is a work of Almighty God Himself. Anyone who repents and turns to Christ only does so because God draws him (Jn 6:44) and causes a sorrow within that produces to repentance that leads to salvation (2 Cor 7:10). Bless the Lord for He alone saves.
Scholars believe David wrote this psalm for the dedication ceremony of the Ark of the Covenant after bringing it back to Jerusalem from Obed-edom (2 Sam 6). He recounts the deliverances of God through the history of Israel. No one can stand against Him, enemies flee before Him. The Lord will save His chosen in this present life and the life to come. So let all God's people rejoice for God has and will deliver us!
If you are a Christian today you have lots to be thankful for. God has gone before you all the days of your life to save. He has delivered you from temporal and eternal judgments. May we blessed the Lord and sing praises to Him for what He has done and is doing. Take a moment today and stand in awe of His saving grace. No one can save like our God. May your life reflect the gratitude in your hearts for what God has done!
Father, we thank You for doing the saving work in our lives. We had no hope without You but through You and because of Your Son we have eternal hope. All praise and glory to You oh God. You deserve the very best version of us we can give You. May our lives become a song of gratitude to You Lord. Thank You for delivering us from the clutches of death and putting us on the path that leads to eternal life. We love you in Jesus name I pray, amen.
