Psalm 56:8-9

Psalm 56:8–9 (ESV): "8  You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book? 9  Then my enemies will turn back in the day when I call. This I know, that God is for me."

God cares about all the details of our lives because He is for us. He writes down our hurts and stores up our tears in a bottle and remembers them. We are not alone in this life. God is watching, writing, and responding to our needs, and one day He will break out the book of remembrance and show us (Mal 3:16).

When David was going through the most difficult things in his life, he struggled with wondering where God was. In the end, he came to the conclusion that he was never alone. In fact, he tells us here that God was actually nearer than expected counting his tossing, capturing his tears, and writing down his pain for the sake of showing us later how He was with us. David came to the conclusion that no matter what God was for him.

We can all relate to feeling alone and abandoned by God. That is why we must never walk by feelings. It's ok to express to God how you feel but you must also let God express to you the truth about those feelings. David felt alone at times, he told the Lord, and then the Lord told him the truth, "you're never alone David!"

God's word to you today is "you are not alone." He is for you and with you and working on your behalf to accomplish great things. Don't be fooled by your feelings. God cares about every detail of your life. He captures your tears because they are dear to Him. He writes down your pain and problems so He can remind you of His faithfulness. Come to the same conclusion as David today and declare, "this I know, that God is for me."

Father, thank You for allowing us space and the place to express ourselves to You. More importantly, thank You for speaking back to us with truth in love. Forgive us if we ever doubt You or Your intentions. We can't wait for that day when we sit down face to face with You and You break out the book of remembrance and tell us of our redemption story. We love You lord. In Jesus' name, we pray, amen.
