Psalm 46:10-11

Psalm 46:10–11 (ESV): "10  "Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!" 11  The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah"

The art of "being still" before the Lord is learned by trusting God daily in the little things. Thus, don't despise the days of small things for God is using them to prepare you for the big things that will come your way.

The history of Israel is one of great triumph and rescue. God has always been faithful to her in her humility and in her pride. The sons of Korah wrote this song of celebration while the armies of Assyria camped outside the city of Jerusalem. The threat was imminent and yet Isaiah was making the declaration that they wouldn't attack nor would one arrow from the Assyrians fly into this city (Isa 37:33). The people need only be still and know that God is God. He has proven Himself over and over and He would protect them.

When trouble shows up in your life you need not worry but trust the Lord. He has gone before you and prepared you for such a time as this. He is God and that means we can trust that if He has allowed it into our lives then He will use it for our good (Ro 8:28). Trust the Lord in times of uncertainty. Be still before Him. He will exalt Himself over our enemies and circumstances. All we need to do is trust Him. Amen?

Father, we thank You for being an amazing Father to us. How good You have been to us. You teach us to trust You and prove to us that You will never fail us. May we be still before You trusting that You will work all things out for our good. We don't have to see how but may we have faith to trust in the fact that You are God we pray in Jesus name, amen.
