Psalm 106:47

Psalm 106:47 (ESV): "47  Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise."

The cry for help is one that never eludes the ear of the Lord. Like Superman when hearing the cry of a damsel in distress does God respond to the groans of His kids and come to rescue. God will never let you down when you cry out for help.

The psalmist recounts the history of the children of Israel here. Although they were grossly unfaithful to God which resulted in some sort of captivity or oppression they were only a cry away from help. God showed up the moment they cried out for rescue. Time and time again they turned from God and received His discipline but never did He cease to respond when they cried out in repentance for help.

God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He does not change. His ear is just as sensitive to a sincere cry for help as it ever has been. Every bad decision we make yields consequences and yet the moment we cry out to God He rescues us. He doesn't necessarily always remove us from the consequences but He does always give us hope. Never forget God's ear is sensitive to the cry of His creation. Cry out to Jesus and watch Him move mountains and part waters to rescue you.

Father, we thank You that we can cry out to You after turning away over and over again. You are faithful and will always come to our rescue when we turn back to You. Forgive us for giving our hearts to other things at times. May You alone be the only thing we seek after. Have Your way in our hearts and lives we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
