Proverbs 3:1-2

Proverbs 3:1–2 (ESV): "My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, 2  for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you."

The Father's heart is to see His children thriving in life and resting in the peace that surpasses understanding. His Word is meant to provide us with instruction for such a life. Walk in it!

Solomon wants his son to know that his commands are not to hinder but to help him. They aren't meant to imprison but to provide freedom. Not to keep him from good things but to help him avoid bad things. He knows the best life experience is found only in doing it God's way.

Do you think you can live a better life than the one God has made for you? He doesn't promise freedom from struggle or pain but He does promise us peace through all things. All we have to do is walk in the Word of God and we will experience the prosperity of God manifest in His perfect peace. Don't forsake His instruction. Fall in line and let His Word lead you, you won't regret it.

Father, we thank You that You love us enough to give us instruction and guidance. May we not rebel or repel against Your commands. Help us to walk them out as best we can and let the fruit of peace settle over our lives. Fill us with the strength to obey in Jesus' name, amen.
