Proverbs 28:4-5

Proverbs 28:4–5 (ESV): "4  Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law strive against them. 5  Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand it completely."

Our world is the way it is because people have a fallen nature. What else can you expect sinners to do but sin? The answer to the turmoil we face has a name, it is Jesus.

Its been said the heart of the problem is a problem of the heart. How true it is. Our hearts are desperately wicked, depraved from all goodness in our natural state. Thus the issues we face in the world stem from our fallen spiritual nature. There is division between the wicked and the righteous because the wicked want to call sin good and the redeemed restrain them. Only those who seek the Lord can understand this.

The remedy for this is not more laws but heart change. If we desire to see real healing and unity in our world we must deal with the root cause of it all. Change the spiritual nature = solve the problem. This means that the redeemed should not only stand against the wicked as a restrainer but we should also give them the remedy. The Gospel is the medicine the world needs to deal with the root issue of depravity. Go on the offensive today and share the Gospel with someone. We can effect real change by dealing with the heart of the problem amen?

Father, we thank You that you see the heart of the problem of all humanity and You dealt with it by the giving of Your Son Jesus. Forgive us who have been healed and redeemed but who remain silent towards those who are stuck with no hope. Give us the same empathy for the wicked as You have that we wouldn't simply restrain but share with them the life giving message of the Gospel. Change our world one heart at a time through us we pray in Jesus name, amen.
