Philippians 4:19

Philippians 4:19 (ESV): "19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

Man has needs in this world and beyond and there is only one who can supply them. God is our supply and because of this, we can rest easy because He has endless resources to accomplish this.

Helping others is at the core of the Christian faith. We should help (not enable) others even if it costs us. The Philippians helped Paul not because they had excess but because that is what Christians do. Paul makes mention of being "well supplied" because of them (vs 18). Those in Philippi have needs too and although Paul can't provide for them, he knows who can. The promise given is that God shall supply their every need. He can because He is God. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Ps 50:10).

What do you need today? If it is truly a need we can expect God to provide. He will supply our needs that is why we look to Him. Hudson Taylor, George Muller, and many other Saints have demonstrated the validity of this promise. God will supply your needs. Look to Him alone to do so. If you are in need today, pray, and seek the Lord. Ask Him to provide your needs and expect Him to do so. Amen?

Father, we pray the prayer of Proverbs 30:8–9 (ESV): "give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me, 9  lest I be full and deny you and say, "Who is the Lord?" or lest I be poor and steal and profane the name of my God." Your will be done we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
