Numbers 11:28-30

Numbers 11:28–30 (ESV): "28 And Joshua the son of Nun, the assistant of Moses from his youth, said, "My lord Moses, stop them." 29 But Moses said to him, "Are you jealous for my sake? Would that all the Lord's people were prophets, that the Lord would put his Spirit on them!" 30 And Moses and the elders of Israel returned to the camp."

God's people ought never to be jealous of what the Spirit of doing in others. We are all on the same team. It's time we start acting like it.

When Moses asked God for help with managing the people He told him to summon the seventy elders of Israel and when they gathered God took some of the Spirit that was upon Moses and put Him on the seventy. They immediately manifest the empowerment of the Spirit by prophesying. Eldad and Medad didn't go to the tent but the Spirit still came upon them and they prophesied in the camp. Joshua ran to Moses to report this atrocity. Moses responded, "are you jealous for my sake? Would that all the Lord's people were prophets, that the Lord would put His Spirit on them."

The same Spirit that empowered Moses is the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead and is the same Spirit that dwells within us. May we never be jealous of the work of the Spirit in the life of those around us. Rather, we ought to be rejoicing over what God is doing. We are His body and we are working for the same Kingdom. Never forget that.

Father, we thank You for the work of the Spirit in the lives of Your saints. May we rest in His work and never become jealous of the anointing upon others. Pour out Your Spirit upon all the Saints. We want to see You move in might and power throughout Your body. Spirit come upon every believer to the glory of the Father we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
