Nehemiah 12:42-43

Nehemiah 12:42–43 (ESV): "And the singers sang with Jezrahiah as their leader. 43 And they offered great sacrifices that day and rejoiced, for God had made them rejoice with great joy; the women and children also rejoiced. And the joy of Jerusalem was heard far away."

Christians can have joy in all things because we know the Lord is over all and at work in all things. He is the source of our joy and the one who makes us joyful people!

After all the people were given their positions in Judah it came time for the exiles of Babylon to dedicate their handiwork to God for they had completed the work of rebuilding the temple and the city wall. They understood that God was the source of their ability to complete the work and thus they acknowledged this before the Lord by dedicating the wall to God through singing and sacrifice with great rejoicing to the extent that their joy was heard from afar.

Is your joy in the Lord expressed in a way that people can hear it?It's a choice not based on what is happening in your life. We are to express joy in all things for it makes a declaration that we believe God is in control. The more we trust the Lord the more we can express true joy.

Press into the Lord today and get a deeper sense of His sovereignty and be filled with a great sense of joy.Your circumstances can't win over truth! You have a reason to be joyful today.Your God is for you and at work in you and He is faithful to complete what He starts. Now that is worth rejoicing over folks! Let the joy of your heart be expressed in such a way that those afar from God can hear it.

Father, we give You praise, honor, and glory for who You are.You are the King of all creation and the lover of our souls. You are at work in the world to reveal Your redemptive plan to all.Help us Lord to trust You deeper that we might be able to express pure joy in all things knowing that everything is in Your hand.Deepen our understanding of who You are we pray in the mighty name of Jesus, amen, and amen!
