Micah 5:2-3

Micah 5:2–3 (ESV): "2 But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days. 3 Therefore he shall give them up until the time when she who is in labor has given birth; then the rest of his brothers shall return to the people of Israel."

God always promises to use the weak to confound the wise, the small to overcome the large. He never looks at what man looks at.He sees things for what He can make them and not what they can do by themselves. If He can use the little town of Bethlehem to bring forth the Messiah He can use you right where you are.

Micah makes a prophetic declaration in the midst of proclaiming judgment to the house of Judah and all Israel that the Messiah would come through the birthplace of David in the small town of Bethlehem. It was not a great city and certainly not worthy of this honor but God chose it to reveal His power and majesty. He doesn't choose things because they are great but because He can make them great.

You might be wondering what in the world God can do through you.A lot of you let Him.He doesn't choose His servants for the work of ministry based on what they have to offer Him but rather on what He can do through them.He looks for loyal hearts who will be obedient to His call.He chose Bethlehem and can use you.Let Him!Amen?

Father, we thank You that we don't have to be superhuman or born in the right family to be chosen and used by You.Take our lives and use them for Your honor and glory and help us to never get in the way of what You want to do through us in Jesus' name, amen.
