Matthew 5:8

Matthew 5:8 (ESV): "8 "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."

One of the most offensive lifestyles to God is that of a poser. A person who says they have an undivided heart towards God and say they are free from sexual immorality and yet they are living the very opposite. God is most offended by such a one as this (Isa 1:10-17).

Jesus gives us the sixth Beatitude here dealing with the purity of heart. The Greek word for "pure" carries the idea of being undivided, sincere, straight, and honest. It also means to be morally pure inside and out. Jesus is calling us to a real genuine relationship with Him. Not a form of religion that denies His power. Those who come to Him pure in their sincerity and devotion SHALL (it's in the indicative mood meaning it will happen) see God!

Christianity isn't a fake it till you make it a lifestyle. You will never make it if you fake it because "making it" requires honesty and sincerity. Jesus will not accept a divided and impure heart. He requires all to come sincerely and whole-heartedly. He also desires believers to live in this manner. Those who do will see God, amen?

Father, we thank You for calling us out of darkness into marvelous light. May we come to You and live for You with a pure heart. Keep us from the pollution of this world we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
