Matthew 22:14

Matthew 22:14 (ESV): "14 For many are called, but few are chosen."

Salvation is an invitation given to all people of all nations. Only those who respond are chosen. Our response must be per the invitation. We can't come to God any way we want but we must come through His Son Jesus Christ. Those who do will be given the right attire for the banquet.

The parable of the wedding feast is an amazing story of God's invitation to save the nation of Israel and the world through her.The nation as a whole rejected Jesus as Messiah. They were to be a light to the nations but they refused so God sent His servants (i.e., the early church believers) to the Gentiles to invite them to join Him in the greatest wedding banquet that will ever take place, the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. No one will be able to sneak into this banquet without the proper attire. One must be wearing the robe of righteousness to enter. Many are invited but only a few will come and in the right way.

Our job as believers is to go to the highways and byways and invite as many people to the Marriage Supper as possible. We must not neglect to tell them that they a required to wear the robe of righteousness provided by God through His Son. That means we must inform them that there is only one way to come, by grace, through faith, in Christ alone. Those that are chosen are the ones that respond to the Gospel and show up in the garments of Christ.Don't neglect to invite as many as you can for time is growing short, the party is about to start, amen?

Father, thank You for calling and choosing us to be part of Your Kingdom.May we take the invitation of Jesus out to the nations that many more will also join us for all of eternity in Your presence. Give us opportunities today to share the Good News with those around us and invite them to put on the robe of righteousness and enjoy the celebration of the Marriage Supper we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
