Matthew 2:16

Matthew 2:16 (ESV): "16 Then Herod, when he saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, became furious, and he sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all that region who were two years old or under, according to the time that he had ascertained from the wise men."

Spiritual warfare is no joke! The enemy is a roaring lion seeking to devour anything that represents Jesus. The Lord doesn't take us out of the fight but guides us through it. Pay careful attention to God's instructions for He will direct us in how we should respond to every battle.

An angel appeared to both Mary and Joseph in a dream and instructed them regarding the impregnation of Mary. After Jesus was born the Magi came from the east to worship Him and when Herod caught wind and was filled with the spirit of Satan he sought to kill Jesus. Joseph was again alerted by an angel in his dream to flee to Egypt. After Herod died, an angel again appeared in Joseph's dreams and instructed him to return to Israel. He was yet again warned in a dream by an angel not to dwell in Bethlehem for Herod's son Archelaus was a threat to Jesus but to go to Galilee and Nazareth specifically.

Satan has been after Jesus since day one and he will continue to pursue those who represent Him until he is cast into the Lake of Fire. Fear not for God is with us. He will lead and guide us. May we be sensitive to His instruction and flee when He tells us to flee and resist when He tells us to resist. The battle belongs to God. We need to simply take refuge in Him and listen to His instruction, amen?

Father, we praise You for being our God. You are so loving and compassionate towards us. You see us being pursued by the enemy and You not only see us through it but You use it to put us in the place You desire us to be. May we keep our eyes on You and listen intently for Your voice to guide us through the spiritual attacks we face. Your will be done we pray in Jesus' name, amen!
