Matthew 19:28-30

Matthew 19:28–30 (ESV): "28 Jesus said to them, "Truly, I say to you, in the new world, when the Son of Man will sit on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name's sake, will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life. 30 But many who are first will be last, and the last first."

The day is coming when the followers of Jesus will be caught up together with Him and will rule and reign over the Millennial Kingdom. In those days all that we have sacrificed to follow Jesus will be rewarded a hundredfold. Don't grow weary in doing good for in due season you will reap!

After speaking to the rich young ruler about what it takes to inherit eternal life Jesus turned to His disciples and said, "it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God." The rich young ruler wasn't willing to abandon all for Jesus. The disciples on the other hand had given up everything to follow Him and Jesus assured them they would have a place with Him and would be greatly rewarded.

God has called you to steward your time here on earth Christian. When you make Christ the focus you will lose out on things in this life but what you will gain in the next life will be far greater. Don't trade eternal things for temporal things. Keep Christ the focus. It's the "new world" that we are living for. Be willing to abandon all for Christ, you won't be sorry, amen?

Father, we thank You for reminding us to keep an eternal perspective. This world is passing away and Your Kingdom has come and is coming. Let us live with this in mind. Fill us with a passion to live recklessly abandoned unto You until You return or call us home. We love You in Jesus' name, amen.
