Matthew 10:1

Matthew 10:1 (ESV): "And he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction."

Jesus is an equal opportunity employer. He does not discriminate but calls all kinds of people to Himself and then equips them with authority to complete their assignment.

When Jesus called the twelve, he didn't call the qualified. These twelve were everyday kinds of people that had a heart for God. Well, at least eleven of them that is. Judas was called as the son of perdition. After Jesus called them out He qualified them by equipping them with His authority to accomplish His purposes. He never sends out His called ones without His power!

If you have been called by Jesus to be one of His disciples then you have been equipped with His authority to cast out demons, heal diseases, and every affliction. This isn't just apostolic authority but common authority given to all the called. You can do miraculous things in the name of Jesus Christian as you walk according to His will. Walk in the authority you've been given and watch and see what God will do through you! Amen?

Father, we thank You for calling us! Where would we be if You had not drawn us to Yourself (Jn 6:44)? May we walk in the power and authority of Jesus Christ without fear. Use us to accomplish Your purposes we pray in Jesus name, amen!
