Matthew 27:54

Matthew 27:54 (ESV): 54 When the centurion and those who were with him, keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were filled with awe and said, "Truly this was the Son of God!"

The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ changes lives! Even the hardest of hearts can be impacted by the Son of God. Don't count anyone out when it comes to being touched by Jesus. He is still in the business of wrecking lives in beautiful ways.

After Jesus gave up the ghost on Calvary the veil in the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split. The tombs also were opened. And many bodies of the saints, who had fallen asleep were raised. No one could deny that these events occurred because of who Jesus is. Even the hardened Centurion who had executed many people before saw the power of God at this moment and declared, "truly this was the Son of God."

God can reach anyone through His Son! It can happen in a lot of different ways so don't ever grow weary in hoping for those who are lost. Do you have a family member that is so hardened that you have given up on the idea of them coming to Christ? Find hope in the words of this Centurion who was hardened beyond belief and yet still came to a place of confessing Jesus as the Son of God. If He can reach that guy He most certainly can reach those we love that are lost. Pray for a Centurion encounter with Jesus and watch and see what He does, amen?

Father, we thank You for saving wretches and changing the hardest of hearts. We lift our hardened loved ones to You and ask that You give them an encounter that will soften their hearts and change their minds. May they confess and believe in Your Son we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
