Mark 14:9

Mark 14:9 (ESV): 9 And truly, I say to you, wherever the gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will be told in memory of her."

Love is a verb. It compels a person to act not because they have to or are told to but because they want to. Love works!

Just a few days before His crucifixion Jesus was in Bethany at Simon the leper's home reclining at a table and a woman came in with a very expensive alabaster flask of pure hard and she broke it open and poured the ointment over His head. His disciples became indignant (particularly Judas) saying to themselves "Why wasn't this sold and the proceeds given to the poor?" They scolded her for doing this then Jesus said, "Leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want, you can do good for them. But you will not always have me.  She has done what she could; she has anointed my body beforehand for burial. And truly, I say to you, wherever the gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will be told in memory of her."

How do you express your love to Jesus? What things do you do that may seem foolish to others because you want the Lord to know how much you love Him? Feel free to act spontaneously towards the Lord in expressing your love for Him. He cherishes and remembers those acts because they speak of a genuine and true relationship with Him. Don't hold back your feelings for the Lord. Show Him through your actions what He means to you. Love works, amen?

Father, we thank You for expressing Your love to us by sending Your Son. Deepen our relationship with You to the point that we can freely express our feelings for You before all men. You are worthy of it all, may we hold nothing back we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
