Mark 13:35-37

Mark 13:35–37 (ESV): "35 Therefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning— 36 lest he come suddenly and find you asleep. 37 And what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake."

In a world that is considered woke, many are asleep concerning the coming of Christ. Many reject it, others think it is so far off that they will never see it. Some even try and predict the day it will happen. Jesus tells us to stay woke for we will never know the day or hour of His coming.

After speaking about the destruction of Jerusalem and the birth pain that will occur, Jesus spoke about the Abomination of Desolation, and how Israel (the fig tree) is the key nation to pay attention to. He said the generation that sees "all these things take place," will not pass away but will see Him coming on the clouds.

He goes on to say that one knows the day or the hour that "this day" will occur, speaking about the Rapture and not the Second Coming. Thus His followers must be ready for it at all times. That means we must stay awake, be alert, paying attention to what is happening in our world.

Are you woke to the things going on around you and how they relate to the Rapture and return of Christ or are you too preoccupied to notice? Have you fallen asleep and failed to realize that time is short? If you have, Jesus is sounding a wake-up call for you today. Rise from your slumber, repent of your dead works, return to your first love, and live for Him until He comes, amen?

Father, we thank You for giving us all the information we need to be ready for the Rapture and Second Coming of Christ. Keep us awake and vigilant in these last days that we might not be caught off guard in Jesus' name we pray, amen.
