Mark 1:32-34

Mark 1:32–34 (ESV): "32 That evening at sundown they brought to him all who were sick or oppressed by demons. 33 And the whole city was gathered together at the door. 34 And he healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons. And he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him."

Jesus has authority over all things including our physical bodies and the spiritual realm. We don't wrestle against flesh and blood even in sickness, but against dark spiritual forces that attempt to bring us under their control. We must not look to anyone else but Jesus if we want true healing and victory from sickness and the demonic. Jesus is the answer!

After Jesus chose His disciples He began revealing His Messianic identity by teaching with authority in the synagogues, healing the sick and casting out demons. The people of Israel we're amazed. They couldn't believe He had authority over unclean spirits. They marveled but not many followed Him.

Where do you run to for deliverance? When you or someone you know is diagnosed with a disease or experiencing demonic activity (possession is only applicable to unbelievers, oppression is applicable to all) where do you turn for help first? We must learn to run to Jesus first. He will tell us what to do. He has all authority to handle anything we face so no matter what you need Jesus can fix it. Cast your cares upon Him today. Believe in His authority and power and trust Him with however He chooses to respond. Amen?

Father, we thank You for meeting us where we are always. Our needs are great but You are greater. Teach us to trust in You more. As we encounter various issues may we learn to run to You alone and trust in the name above all name, Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen and amen!
