Malachi 3:16

Malachi 3:16 (ESV): "16 Then those who feared the Lord spoke with one another. The Lord paid attention and heard them, and a book of remembrance was written before him of those who feared the Lord and esteemed his name."

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge (Prov 1:7). It is what will keep us from pursuing evil and walking in obedience to God. Fear God and you will live a surrendered life to Him. This will not go unnoticed in heaven!

The people of Judah were growing weary of watching the wicked prosper. They felt it was useless to serve God. Yet there was a remnant who feared God. They came together and encouraged one another. Little did they know but God was paying attention. He was recording all their encouragements in a book of remembrance.

God sees you struggling to honor Him. He hears every word of encouragement you give. He loves how you esteem His name so much so that He is recording it in the book of remembrance. The way you fear God will be remembered for all of eternity so walk in the fear of the Lord and encourage others around you to do the same. God is most honored when He is properly feared (awestruck respect). Amen?

Father, we thank You for being so kind to us. We can be rebellious people who do not honor You as we should. Forgive us and restore a Godly fear in our hearts that we too might esteem Your name above our comfort we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
