Luke 6:12–13 (ESV): "12 In these days he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in prayer to God. 13 And when day came, he called his disciples and chose from them twelve, whom he named apostles…"
Making decisions is hard because most of us don't want to make a mistake. That is why we pray through our decisions and ask God to direct our steps. If He is guiding us we cannot fail!
Jesus spent uber amounts of time in prayer. He had the Holy Spirit guiding Him in everything He did and part of that process was aligning His heart with the Father daily. He never went out into the world without praying. When He choose the twelve He prayed all night and in the morning He selected those whom God had given Him. One of them was Judas. Never forget that!
Do you pray through your decisions? If you've given yourself over to the Lord and yielded your will to His then don't hesitate to make the decision you think is right. God doesn't make mistakes. You might end up with a Judas in your camp but if you've prayed about it then assume that it was God's plan. Give everything you do to Him and then don't worry about making the wrong decision. He's got you! Amen?
Father, we praise You for carrying the heavy load that belongs to us. You have never asked us to walk alone in this life. Forgive us for not staying in better tune with You. Help us to make prayer a daily necessity and passion of ours, not a burden. Guide and direct us in all that we have before us we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
