Luke 22:28-30

Luke 22:28–30 (ESV): "28 "You are those who have stayed with me in my trials, 29 and I assign to you, as my Father assigned to me, a kingdom, 30 that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel."

The servants of God are rewarded handsomely for doing what they are instructed to do. In no other kingdom are servants rewarded like this. That is because servants of God are not hired hands but heirs and children of the King. They serve because they get to not because they have to!

The servant of God has rights in His kingdom that belong to children and heirs. They not only become the hands and feet of the King to the people but they also sit at His table and dine and rule with Him. Jesus promised the twelve apostles if they remained faithful to their assignments He would reward them with a place at His table and thrones to judge the twelve tribes of Israel probably in the Millennial kingdom. additionally, their names will be written on the twelve foundations of the wall of the New Jerusalem (Rev 21:14).

Jesus has assigned you and me a place to serve in this world on His behalf and how well we do our jobs will determine how handsome our reward is in heaven. Be faithful to what He is calling you to do not because you get rewarded but because you get to serve Him on this earth. Never take this privilege for granted. Serve faithfully because you get to, not because you have to. The reward is icing on the cake!

Father, we thank You for the privilege it is to serve You here and forever. May we remain steadfast and faithful to complete all the assignments You give us not for the reward but Your glory. That is reward enough. Use us however You will in Jesus' name, amen!
