Luke 2:43-45

Luke 2:43–45 (ESV): "43 And when the feast was ended, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. His parents did not know it, 44 but supposing him to be in the group they went a day's journey, but then they began to search for him among their relatives and acquaintances, 45 and when they did not find him, they returned to Jerusalem, searching for him."

Life can get so hectic at times and we can unintentionally leave Jesus. Days can go by without us realizing that He is not with us. Thankfully He is easily found. When chaos comes be sure to cling to Jesus and you will never have to worry about leaving Him anywhere.

After Jesus was born the Gospels don't give us any details of the toddler life of Jesus. All we know is that He grew strong and was filled with wisdom. Luke picks up his account with Jesus in the Temple at the age of twelve. It was the first Passover Jesus would qualify to attend. After it was over Joseph and Mary departed but Jesus stayed behind. They had no idea they had left Jesus until they were a day's journey away. They returned and found Him about His Father's business in the Temple.

Where is Jesus? Perhaps you know what it feels like to leave Him. The beautiful thing is we know exactly how to find Him. All we have to do is cry out His name and He will be found by us. He will never hide from us. If life has gotten so busy and you realize you are walking alone, stop, look up and cry out to Him. He is about His Father's business and because you are the Father's business He is about you. Don't go another day without Jesus. Recognize where you left Him and then guard yourself against it happening again, amen?

Father, we thank You that we can never lose Jesus in this life. We can leave Him at times but He is always able to be found by us. You make it so simple for us. Help us to keep our eyes fixed on You in the hustle and bustle of life. May we never leave Jesus but if we do help us to recognize it and return quickly we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
