Luke 19:30-31

Luke 19:30–31 (ESV): "Go into the village in front of you, where on entering you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever yet sat. Untie it and bring it here. 31 If anyone asks you, 'Why are you untying it?' you shall say this: 'The Lord has need of it.' "

When Jesus asks you to do something preposterous just do it. He has gone ahead and prepared the scenario. We never have to fret about Him leading us into a trap. He sends us where He needs us and we can be sure that He has gone before us.

The week leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus was crucial for several specific prophecies that needed to be fulfilled. The Messiah was to ride into Jerusalem on a donkey (Zech 9:9) as the King of peace (2 Kgs 9:13). This was to be a declaration to the world that Jesus is the Messiah. It couldn't have happened if the disciples failed to do exactly what Jesus said. So they followed His instructions and the donkey was prepared exactly as He said it would be and Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the exact day He was supposed to (Dan 9:25).

What has Jesus asked you to do that seemed so outlandish that you refused to do it? Know that if He is asking He has prepared the moment. You aren't going in your own power and your own intuition. He orchestrates the good works we are called to walk in (Eph 2:10). Be a good soldier and follow the instructions Jesus gives you. He has prepared the moment for His glory and we have the privilege of being part of it. Go in the power of God, in the intuition of the Spirit, and fulfill the moment He prepared. You never know what the impact of that might be!

Father, we thank You for including us in Your glorious plan. Forgive us for missing moments out of fear or inconvenience. May we be faithful to Your voice and do all that You command us to do we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
