Luke 16:8

Luke 16:8 (ESV): "8 The master commended the dishonest manager for his shrewdness. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than the sons of light."

If you were put in charge of managing a million dollars of someone else's money what would you do? How diligent would you be with it? Would you find the greatest return or just sit on it? Christians have been given something far more valuable than temporary paper money. How diligent are you with the eternal Gospel? What are you doing with it?

The great asset under management in all the world is not tangible and temporary, it is spiritual and eternal. The Gospel has been entrusted to all believers. We are in a sense God's wealth managers. He has put in our hands the only message that can save. He expects us to do something with it. He isn't necessarily looking for a specific yield that would make us tentative to invest it but that we would be faithful with the opportunities we have been given. One day He will call us to turn in the account of our management. What will He find?

What are you doing with the eternal Gospel? Are you investing it heavily or have you hidden it under your mattress at home? You have been given the most privileged position of being His asset manager. He expects you to be diligent with what He has entrusted in you. The Gospel changes lives, why be conservative with it? Go all-in on and risk it all. Don't worry about the yield. That is what He has asked of us. May it not be said of us that the world is more diligent with temporal things than we are with the eternal. Amen?

Father, thank You for giving us such a privileged position after receiving the life-changing Gospel for ourselves. Help us to be diligent with it and invest it in those around us. Open up opportunities and help us to be faithful with them we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
