John 8:25-26

John 8:25–26 (ESV): "25 So they said to him, "Who are you?" Jesus said to them, "Just what I have been telling you from the beginning. 26 I have much to say about you and much to judge, but he who sent me is true, and I declare to the world what I have heard from him."

Jesus never tried to convince anyone of His identity or that His teaching was accurate. He answered questions people had but He never felt the need to justify Himself before man regarding His identity or His teaching. We can learn a lot about how to share truth with people through His example.

The Scribes and Pharisees knew the earthly background of Jesus, or so they thought. They were convinced He was born the illegitimate child of Joseph and Mary and was from Nazareth. Whenever Jesus spoke regarding His pre-existence they would scoff at Him. They refused to believe He was the Son of God. He told them that they would die in their sins if they refuse to believe in Him. Those who did believe and abide in Him would know the truth and the truth would set them free.

When you witness about Jesus, do you find yourself trying to convince people about who He is? Let the Spirit of God convict the heart. It's the truth that sets a person free not our ability to debate. Stick to the script Christian. Deliver the good news and then be available for questions but don't try and convince, that's not our job. The greatest example of how to witness is Jesus. So be like Jesus! Amen?

Father, we thank You for giving us the privileged position of sharing Christ with the world. May we never try and play Holy Spirit. Keep us in our lane so that You would be seen and not hindered by us we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
