John 21:7-8a

John 21:7–8a (ESV): "7 That disciple whom Jesus loved therefore said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment, for he was stripped for work, and threw himself into the sea. 8 The other disciples came in the boat..."

Human beings react differently to Jesus. Some revile Him while others are excited to see Him. The response all comes down to the type of relationship one has with Him.

After Jesus appeared twice to the disciples in the upper room not much had changed in their eyes. They were still uncertain about what the Resurrection meant for them thus Peter went back to fishing. Six of the disciples decided to join him. After all night they had caught nothing then a man from shore told them to cast the net on the other side of the boat. They did so and they caught a boatload of fish. John then said to Peter, "it's the Lord," to which Peter put on his cloak and dove into the water, and swam to shore. The other disciples came in the boat.

What will your reaction be when Jesus appears to you? Will you run to Him, fall down before Him, what will your initial reaction be? Those who don't know Him well may be afraid of Him while others who know Him intimately may leap into His arms joyously. In preparation for His appearing invest in your relationship with Jesus so that you can run to Him as Peter and the other six disciples did. Don't neglect knowing Jesus daily for your response to His appearance will directly correlate with your relationship with Him. invest and be committed to it, Amen?

Father, we thank You that we can daily walk with You. How amazing it is to be a personal relationship with the God of the universe. Help us to invest daily in knowing You that when we see Your Son we may respond as someone who hasn't seen their loved one for a long period we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
