John 11:14-15

John 11:14–15 (ESV): "14 Then Jesus told them plainly, "Lazarus has died, 15 and for your sake I am glad that I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him."

The best teachers are those who help you see beyond your abilities. We limit ourselves so often, but a good teacher will help you move beyond your limits to another level. Jesus does that with His disciples. #bestteacherintheworld

God allows circumstances to come in our lives to train us. When Mary and Martha sent for Jesus after their brother Lazarus got sick, He didn't come immediately. He knew the sickness would lead to death but also that God was going to use this moment to demonstrate the power of His Son before the disciples so they could learn to trust Him even in death. Ultimately it was pointing them to the Resurrection of Jesus. When Lazarus died Jesus waited two additional days before coming. He then came and demonstrated that even death is powerless before Him. Lazarus was raised from the dead! Talk about moving His disciples beyond their limits. Wow!

What circumstances has God allowed in your life to train you? Jesus works best when our back is up against the wall. If He didn't allow difficulties then we wouldn't truly know His strength and power. He may not raise someone from the dead before you but He is working to train you to believe. Stop doubting Him and just wait and watch Him work. We have the best teacher in the world. Learn well Christian!

Father, we thank You for teaching us to walk by faith in difficult times. May we never overreact when life happens. May we trust in what You've taught us and know that with every circumstance comes a lesson in Jesus' name, amen.
