John 1:16–17 (ESV): "16 For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ."

As the song says, "Grace, what have you done? You murdered for me on that cross. Accused, in absence of wrong, my sin washed away in Your blood." What a scandalous thought! Jesus has given us what we don't deserve, life and that more abundantly, by sacrificing Himself on our behalf. There is no better definition of grace than this.

When sin entered the world there was no written law. The law was introduced through Moses to show us what sin is. Salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Eph 2:8-9). It is an undeserved gift from God that produces redemption from sin. The law produces death (Ro 7:5), but grace produces life. We have been given grace upon grace through Jesus Christ. That means grace will produce grace in the lives of its recipients.

Are you living a condemnation-free life Christian? Are you being as gracious with others as God is with you? If we are becoming more religious by the day then we are living by the letter of the law. May grace abound in us to a fault as it does with our Lord. Give the people around you what they don't deserve and you will be living the scandalous grace life. This is the only way to rightly represent Jesus! Grace upon grace…that is seasoned with the truth! Amen?

Father, help us to receive Your grace fully so that we can breathe grace out upon all those that we come in contact with we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
