Job 6:4

Job 6:4 (ESV): "4  For the arrows of the Almighty are in me; my spirit drinks their poison; the terrors of God are arrayed against me."

Spiritual discernment is key to walking through adversity. God chastens those whom He loves for sure but we also have an enemy who attempts to destroy anyone who resembles God. Understanding why we are experiencing hardship will help us grow in spiritual maturity. Nothing good comes easy.

When Job's friends came to visit they sat with him for seven days and didn't say a word because they were so overwhelmed by his suffering. Then Job cursed the day he was born which led to his friend Eliphaz offering up his opinion on why Job was experiencing this trial. He thought it was because Job had sin in his life. Not one of his friends considered the thought that it could just be spiritual warfare.

God must allow the enemy to attack us and if He does it's meant for our good. I know that seems counter-intuitive but we must trust God in times of testing. Everything happens for a reason! And we must be very careful in offering our opinions about God chastising for sin over just a good ole fashion spiritual attack.

If you're experiencing hardship today seek the Lord. Ask Him to search your heart to see if there be any wicked way in you. Plead for His protection from the enemy but also for strength to endure the attack. He promises to give us EVERYTHING we need for life and godliness.

Father we thank You that You are 100% in control of all things. In our hardship, we seek You to better understand why we are experiencing these things. If it's a matter of sin reveal it Lord. If it's a spiritual attack then strengthen us and help us to grow from it. Give us discernment that we can respond accordingly we pray in Jesus name, amen!
