Job 27:6

Job 27:6 (ESV): "6  I hold fast my righteousness and will not let it go; my heart does not reproach me for any of my days."

Holding fast to personal holiness is not the easiest in hard times but it is the best response! Don't give in or give up on God when things are hard, press in and press on!

Continued dialogue with Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite proves to be unfruitful for Job. They are totally convinced that He has some secret sin in his life that is responsible for his hardships but Job knows the truth! Although he still doesn't understand why this is happening he does know its not a result of sin and he will not give in or give up. He is steadfast in remaining faithful to the Lord at all cost!

God allows hardships in our lives to teach and grow us. If we are walking in the flesh we will miss the lesson but if we are walking in the Spirit we will remain faithful and grow in the process. Its not enough to try hard when we are suffering we need to press into the Lord and trust Him. He will provide strength from the Spirit so we can "hold fast to righteousness." Don't let the flesh lash out in hard times, let the Spirit reach in and strengthen you. The Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

Father, we thank You for all that You are and all You do. You are sustainer and protector of life. May we learn to lean on You always and allow Your Spirit to be in control particularly in times of difficulty. Strengthen our resolve to hold fast to righteousness we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
