Job 12:22–23 (ESV): "22 He uncovers the deeps out of darkness and brings deep darkness to light. 23 He makes nations great, and he destroys them; he enlarges nations, and leads them away."
Everything God does with purpose. When darkness is being exposed in the daylight God is at work to reveal sin so that man can repent while there is yet still time. If you listen closely you can almost hear the pleading of God with man.
Job and his friends are going back and forth about why he is experiencing this hardship. They tell him it's because of some secret sin of his. He goes on to say that he has done nothing however he continually references the sovereign hand of God. Job understood that God can do whatever He wants for He will never act unjustly. Thus Job never once questions God's character through this exchange. He does however question the character of his friends. Satan's plan backfires again!
When we look around at our world today we see darkness being exposed. Through the Covid-19 pandemic, we see the greed of man hoarding supplies. Very recently we see the unjust act of a police officer who killed a man by asphyxiation unjustly. We are literally watching the world around us fall apart and with good reason. God is at work exposing man's need for a savior!
If you have yet to be exposed then repent immediately. God is doing a great work globally to extend His hand of grace and offer salvation to all. Don't reject His mercy today. He can do whatever He wants and no matter what will stand innocent because He can't act unjustly. Be at work with Him Christian by preaching the Gospel and watch His mighty hand bring many to Christ in these last moments of the world as we know it.
Father, we thank You that You show us over and over again that You are just and good. Thank You that You are for us. Forgive us for doubting Your character at times. Do whatever You must to expose the dark deeds of man so that many can repent. Put a passion in Your people to share the Gospel on this day while we still can. Move mightily in these last few moments of the age of grace Lord and mobilize Your Church to do what we were designed to do we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
