Job 1:6-7

Job 1:6–7 (ESV): 6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. 7 The Lord said to Satan, "From where have you come?" Satan answered the Lord and said, "From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it."

Understanding the working and ranking of the spiritual realm is an important part of finding freedom and victory in the Christian life. The "sons of God" (angelic beings) are subject to God in all that they do. They do not have free reign on this earth including Satan. #notequaltogod

When Satan and the other fallen angels came to present themselves before God to give an account God asked where they had been. It's not like He didn't know but He is making them give an account to Him. It's a sign of authority and mastery. They are not free to do as they please. They are subject to the headship of God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The entire spiritual realm is 100 percent in control by God and all will give account to Him one day, this includes us! He is Master overall and thus we have nothing to fear in Christ for our debt has been paid and the enemy cannot touch us unless God allows it. For greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 Jn 4:4).

When facing spiritual battles never forget that the Lord is allowing the trial as a test. He wants to reveal to us where we stand. That is the most loving thing our God can do is be honest with us. He knows this will strengthen those who are genuine and in a real relationship with Him and perhaps reveal a false perception for those who do not truly belong to Him.

Satan CANNOT do whatever he wants. He is a created being that is totally subject to God in all that He does. So trust the Lord in your time of trial. You must be tested to be considered faithful. Stand firm and know that the enemy can't do anything that God hasn't allowed him to do.

Father, we thank You for being our all in all in life. You are our Provider and Protector, our Savior and Sustainer. Nothing can take us from Your hand because You are the Almighty, no one can stand before You. Forgive us for not trusting You in times of testing. Fill us with confidence knowing that whatever You are allowing is meant for our betterment and to build us up. We trust You in Jesus' name, amen.
