Jeremiah 29:5-7

Jeremiah 29:5-7 "5 Build houses and live in them; plant gardens and eat their produce. 6 Take wives and have sons and daughters; take wives for your sons, and give your daughters in marriage, that they may bear sons and daughters; multiply there, and do not decrease. 7 But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare."

You've heard it said "bloom where your planted". The Lord was telling Judah to bloom while in exile. God wants us to grow and be fruitful in every situation, even in the midst of being disciplined. Notice God tells them to pray for the welfare of Babylon for in so doing they are praying for their own welfare. It reminds me that we ought to be praying for our country as divided and destructive as it is. Our welfare as individuals is determined by the welfare of our nation. So build your house, plant your garden, be given to marriage and have children...literally bloom where your planted. You'll enjoy life way more and you'll be fulfilling Gods will at the same time.

Father, we thank You for Your Sovereign hand at work in our lives. Help us to trust You and bloom where we've been planted. We pray for the welfare of our nation that you would move in our leaders and the hearts of the people to unite together for Your glory we pray in Jesus name, amen.
