Isaiah 9:6

Isaiah 9:6 (ESV): "6  For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

No matter how dark the days get there is coming a day when pure light will shine brightly from the throne in Jerusalem. Keep your eyes on the prize and don't waver in this present darkness.

Isaiah warned the people of Judah that the road ahead for them near term was filled with dark days. Judah was about to be taken captive by the Assyrians and then later the Babylonians. The land of Galilee would be the first and the worst to be hit but Isaiah promises a huge blessing for them. Matthew 4 reveals it to us...Messiah would spend most of His earthly ministry in that area blessing the inhabitants there. Isaiah looking ahead some 700 years sees Jesus coming to reckon the wages of sin. He would set things in order for His second coming.

Amid difficult times God told the people of Judah there was hope. Listen, friend, darker days are ahead. Our world will get far worse before it gets better. However, we have the same promise Isaiah was eluding to, a child born, a Son given, Almighty God who is the Wonderful Counselor, the Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, He is coming again! We don't worry about the dark days ahead for our eyes are fixed on the Light that is to come. God will not leave you hanging Christian. Even though difficulty lies ahead for you and me Jesus will be with us and continually remind us that all this will come to pass when the Son of Man returns for His Bride. Look at the bright side and be encouraged. Jesus is coming soon, amen?

Father, thank You for sending Your Son to be our Savior and King. Thank You for telling us the truth about what is to be expected in the future but always leaving us with hope. Help us to fix our eyes on Jesus and never take them off Him. Even when things appear hopeless let us not go astray but help us to trust You until You return or call us home we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
