Isaiah 54:10

Isaiah 54:10 (ESV): "10  For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed," says the Lord, who has compassion on you."

Everything in the world is temporary except God's love and the covenant of peace that is made through the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ. All else will pass away but His love and peace remain! His Word is eternal and it stands forever.

God encourages Israel while they are headed for captivity that no matter what, He will be with them. He will never forsake them because His love is steadfast, meaning it is loyal and gracious, and unconditional. It is dependable on Him, not on the actions of the recipient. His peace will also remain for it is made by way of covenant, ultimately sealed in the blood of His Son. God's love and peace will remain even when all else fails these will not!

We are living in tumultuous times, Christian. Our world is changing moment by moment. What we thought was sure is not. That is why we build upon no other foundation except Christ for He is the constant in our lives. Our freedoms may be taken and our lives may look a lot different in the coming days but understand this, God's love and peace will remain. We have nothing to fear for we serve a God who is for us and who promises to be with us and see us through all things. Stop fretting over things that are temporary and focus on that which is eternal (Col 3:2). Even if the mountains depart and the hills are removed God's love and peace will remain forever for they are found in Christ alone! Amen?

Father, we thank You for Your steadfast love for us and the eternal peace we find in Christ. Help us to put our trust in nothing else but You. Remove the fear of the unknown from our hearts and help us to stay on mission proclaiming the Gospel of peace to all we come in contact with. Fill us with faith even now and let us never doubt Your love and the peace we've been given in Jesus name, amen.
