Isaiah 35:3-4

Isaiah 35:3–4 (ESV): "3  Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. 4  Say to those who have an anxious heart, "Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you."

What is the best way to strengthen a weary Christian? By reminding them that Christ is coming soon and when He does He will set the world right! We have nothing to fear for our Lord is coming and He will save us!

God told Isaiah that after the destruction of Judah He would bring a beautiful restoration. The people of Judah would be brought back into their land after seventy years in captivity. They would get discouraged in the process and their strength would fade but God told Isaiah to encourage the people to keep pressing on for the Lord would pay vengeance on their enemies and they would be saved by the mighty hand of God. They were to hope in the coming of the Lord and fear not.

I can't help but think that many in our day need to hear the same exhortation to "be strong and fear not" for the Lord is coming soon. Hope in the glorious appearing of Christ our King. When He comes He will pay recompense upon the world with a vengeance like never seen. We need not worry about justice being served for it will be. In the meantime, we ought to be strengthened and encouraged in the coming of our Lord. Jesus said He would not leave us orphans but He would return to take us home with Him. That day is coming so hold on Christian, be strong, and fear not. Be encouraged that no matter what you face God is with you and He will come for you!

Father, we thank You for giving us the understanding that one day soon Jesus will return. It is our source of strength and encouragement. May it push us to finish strong and be on mission to give as many people as possible the same hope as we have. Strengthen our weak hands and feeble knees even now we pray in Jesus' name, amen.
