Hosea 14:9

Hosea 14:9 " Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know them; for the ways of the Lord are right, and the upright walk in them, but transgressors stumble in them."

Drummer Buddy Rich died after surgery in 1987. As he was being prepped for surgery, a nurse asked him, "Is there anything you can't take?" Rich replied, "Yeah, country music." Last words aren't always profound...unless they're Gods. The book of Hosea closes with Gods final words to the nation of Israel and man are they powerful.

Gods final appeal through the prophet Hosea to these wayward people is not to the physically wise or discerning but to the spiritually wise or discerning. He is speaking to any who would desire to be made right with God. His heart is restoration. He pleads with man is to walk according to His Word. You will never be lead astray if you walk according to God's Word. It is truth and a sure and steady path to righteousness. Those who reject His Word will stumble and fall. If you are failing and faltering stop following your heart and follow the Word of God. It will never lead you astray.

Don't look within for wisdom and discernment look up to the all wise and discerning God of all creation. He will point you to His Word and it will give you wisdom and discernment. Trust His Word and you will never be led astray.

Father, we thank You for Your Word. It is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. May we trust Your Word always and may it be the sole source of wisdom and discernment we pray in Jesus name, amen.
