Hosea 14:3 (ESV): "3  Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride on horses; and we will say no more, 'Our God,' to the work of our hands."

God deserves all the glory and honor in the world except what is done in the flesh. If you accomplish something in the flesh God wants no part of it for it was not His work that accomplished it. Know the difference.

Israel had been quick to give glory to God for all their doings. They were praising Him while rejecting His counsel and will. They were seeking refuge from man and then rejoicing in the Lord. God wanted nothing to do with that. He calls this nation to repent and return and to stop giving Him glory for the works of their hands.

How easy it is to fall into the trap of praising God for things He had no part in. Beware Christian that you are not operating in the flesh and then giving God the glory for the outcome. He has called us to follow Him. May we run every thought and motivation through the Spirit and discern what is God and what is not. Amen?

Father, we praise You for keeping it real with us always. You desire no praise and glory for the things we accomplish on our own. You delight only in things that are birthed through Your Spirit. Let us walk steadfastly in the Spirit and give You all the glory due to You we pray in Jesus name, amen.
