Hosea 13:14

Hosea 13:14 "I shall ransom them from the power of Sheol; I shall redeem them from Death. O Death, where are your plagues? O Sheol, where is your sting?"

There is no foe that can stand against God. Even the greatest of enemies coward at His presence. Sin and death are no match for the glorious grace of our God. He promises Israel that one day death will be conquered and mans sins will be forgiven. The grave will not keep those who belong to the Lord for He will rescue us from Sheol.

This prophecy couldn't have come at a better time for Israel had gone astray, they were as wayward as can be worshipping Baal and rejecting the call of God upon their lives. The nation as a whole was headed for the wrath of God. And yet in the midst of their rebellion and sin God promises redemption and forgiveness. This is grace, getting what you don't deserve.

The Bible reminds us all of us have gone astray, we have all abandoned God and if it weren't for His pursuit of us none of us would follow Him. Maybe your in a state of rebellion, know that although God does not approve He will not forsake you. He will keep coming after you because He loves you. Sin and death were defeated by Jesus Christ for you. You can be forgiven, you can have assurance that you will go to heaven one day if you put your faith in Jesus. Don't harden your heart today, believe and receive the Gospel. If you already believe rejoice and share the Good News with someone around you. Death has been conquered, the grave was defeated when Jesus rose from the dead. Believe it and receive it and it will be true for you!

Father, we thank You for grace. What a wonderful thing it is to receive that which you don't deserve. We are humbled by Your love and thankful for the victory we have been given in Jesus Christ. May our lives reflect the thankfulness in our hearts for what You have done. All glory and honor and praise be to You in Jesus name, amen.
